Attraction

when someone say "He/She is very attractive" they are talking about that person's looks
but when you are looking for someone to spend your whole life with, you have to look behind external appeal
things like personality and other person's ability comes in play as well
young people rely on looks to find their boyfriend/girlfriend
but i found out that looks are not the only thing that i should find attractive

during my high school years, group friends would get together and talk about what type of girls we are into
we all agreed that cute girls are better than hot girls
we all also agree that sex appeal was one of main points
bigger breasts and hips, sexy legs, and flat stomach, it was the ideal girl for all of us
we would not even talk about girl's characteristics or personality
but now that i am reaching 20s i began to look for more in a girl, like personality
and my idea of perfect girl changed

i stopped caring about breast/hip size and even height
maybe i am maturing or maybe its because i learned that "Mom Test" decreases number of candidates (mom test shrinks the number of girls i can date and be in relationship with)idk but description of my crush does not fit my high school description of a perfect girl

my current crush is bit on a short side, (she mentions that she is short constantly, always comparing her height to her younger sister, who is bit taller than her)
she has average size breasts and hips (from my observation, plz dont think of me as a pervert)
she is cute
she is pretty smart
she has outgoing personality
and she will always be beautiful to me

btw many girls do not know this, but certain hairstyles also attract guys,
i think ponytails are sexy
some of my friends like long hair

and here is word of encouragement, you girls are beautiful
so dont be discouraged when you watch Victoria Secret's fashion show
most guys would prefer average girl over a lingerie model

it seems that today's teenage girls are discouraged about their looks

sleeping habits

i was watching a movie on my laptop and when i was half way through
i noticed that it was 1:15 AM
i also noticed that, ever since winter break started
i have been sleeping at 4 AM and waking up at 12 PM
its a really bad habit and i think my sleeping pattern is fucked up now
but this reminded me or an article my friend told me about few months ago

she said she read an article about sleep deprivation
i dont remember the exact numbers but 90-80% of people were sleep deprived
also nearly 90% of high school students in US was sleep deprived
the article also stated that missed hours of sleep pile up, causing sleep deprived people to be tired
only way to cure fatigue and make up lost sleep was to either take a nap or go to sleep early

later i also remembered how my bad sleeping habits started
as the first son of Asian family, i was always encouraged to study harder and longer than other students
but i loved movies and such, so i stayed up and watched movies and such
unfortunately i still do that
another reason was my crush
i always thought about her, every thing made me think about her
i look up at the skies and thought if she was looking up at the sky too
i would lay on my bed and think of thousands of different methods to get her attention and confess to her

hmm...
its 1:34 now...
i better try to sleep...

Another One

so last night i was trying to sleep and thinking of many things at the same time
when i suddenly thought of something so wonderful: another Romantic Writing of mine
so i got out of bed and wrote it down, because i had a feeling that i will forget it in the morning and i would regret not writing it down
so here it is

Do you know why light symbolizes hope?
its because when you are lost in the darkness light will show you the way
giving you "hope" that you will find your way
Life is very similar to this concept
since we can't see whats is ahead, its similar to being lost in darkness
but we have guides that will help us take the correct path
small lights shines your way
these small lights are your friends and family members

unfortunately, no matter how many small lights you have
its not bright enough to show you the path
you need something more bright
that bright light is someone who holds the key to your heart
yes, your love, girlfriend/boyfriend, someone you want to be with forever...

unfortunately for me, i don't have that bright light to help me towards the correct path

Economic Sense

i know economy has been on bad terms for couple of months
but past few days, i finally saw the true extend of this bad economy
as u all probably know, Mervyn's is going out of business
and they have been having "going out of business" sale

few years ago, many other stores had "going out of business" sale
but they never closed
so i thought Mervyn's was the same
plus they said it was "sale" but many of the stuff were same prices

3 days ago, i was out with my sister and my parents and they wanted to stop by Mervyn's
to see if any deals are good
when we went in the store
there was nothing
everything was on sale
even the shelves and other furniture that the store used to display goods were for sale
many other businesses like Lining N' Things near by closed down
and now Steve and Berry's are closing
and many new small businesses are struggling to get things started
this ramen store was scheduled to open by November, but it still hasnt
upon seeing these bad things i understood how serious and how fast this economy is effecting us

even worse, my dad's close friend/co-worker lost his job
and he was struggling to find a job despite having long years of experience
he needed to get a loan because he did not want to see his kids go without Christmas presents
he horrible thing is that, he is not alone, there are thousands just in California who are struggling to find a job and struggling to support their family during the holidays

also people are not celebrating holidays
yesterday i was with friends
we were talking about what we are doing for holidays
everyone of us were staying home, usually, many of us would go snowboarding and go to Las Vegas or go visit relatives but this year, due to slow economy, everyone is
staying home

another thing
gas rose slightly
many are predicting another price hike, i hope it doesnt

Really Really Busy Weekend

over the weekend i went to something called a "Lock In"
its an event where the guests cannot leave the meeting/party/fun event
anyways
the Lock In i attended is 2days 1night long, and i stayed up all night
its was for college students
so of course there were some alcohol involved
but unlike college parties with just a lot of beer
this event had only hard liquor
Jack Daniels, Vodka, this other stuff i dont remember and bunch of light drinks
light drinks had like 5% alcohol and tasted like juice

i have tried many alcoholic drinks like wine, beer, sake, and soju (Korean drink) and small sips of scotch and whisky but never tried full cups and large amounts
well did over the weekend

all of the guests were buzzing except one girl
she drank so much vodka and later JD that she got drunk and end up doing stupid things (nothing sexual)
she ended up throwing up

i found out that i love to drink, everything tasted good and i wanted more, but i held my urge to drink more
plus i wasnt suppose to be drinking anyways
my favorite drink of the night was this unnamed thing my friend made me
it was mix of pepsi, monster, and Jack Daniel, it was sooo good


well it was great party
got to meet people i havent seen for nearly a year
it was just fun
so far my winter break has been awesome

Winter Break is Here!!!

so i am off school for a month
yes, my school starts on the 20th of jan 2009

although school is off, i am constantly worried about school
i have to worry about book costs and buying books,
last semester i procrastinated and i have to buy new books, which cost me more for no particular reason
this semester i am keeping track
i just received an email from my school bookstore that my books are available
i am thinking of going back to school next week so i can buy used books
with current economy struggling, i have to do everything in my power to save some cash

btw if u havent seen it on the news, another auto company bail-out plan passed
but Ford is not included

u can start to see how bad the economy is
i see more homeless people on the street and in homeless shelters
i know its tough, but holidays are here
and in the season of giving
i say u can spare couple of change to the homeless
i will be doing my best to donate couple of bucks to charity or just a random homeless person i see

so today was my last final
i have to go to school tmr to sell my textbooks
then i am free for a month and 2 weeks

but there is one problem
my wallet is getting thinner everyday
i dont have a job yet
i been looking for one since last summer but with this economy
people want to get rid of employees not hire one
i have few connection and i just turned in an application
so i am just waiting for them to call
wish me luck!!!

Almost There

so i am almost done with my finals
i know that most schools are either done or finishes on friday
but here in CSU Northridge we end next wednesday

i have 2 more finals on tuesday
well more like 1 more, 1 final is just turn in a project which is already completed and do a small presentation on what the project is
the last final is a test, but i already studied and just reviewing now

plus i am passing all my classes so its not a problem i should be worried.

Teen Girls vs. Porn

On CNN.com yesterday there was a story about two high school girls who were kicked from their cheer squad because they were sexting
sexting is when a girl or a guy (mostly girls) sends nude and sexual pictures of themselves to their boyfriend/girlfriend through picture text messaging feature on their cell phone

the reporter interviewed a researcher who studies child/teen parenting and behavior, according to her there is three main reasons why girls do this

1) they are teenagers, their blood is filled with hormones and their bodies are mass producing them and its is of course "natural" to feel that way

2) celebrities are bad role models. teenage stars like vanessa hudgens, jamie lynn spears, and miley cyrus who all have been caught taking naughty picture of themselves are having bad influences on young girls

3) porn now can be easily accessed. any guy can go online and effortlessly find porn sites and girls feel threatened towards it. they also feel that the only way they can gain and keep attention from their boyfriend is by taking nude and indecent pictures of themselves and send it to them

the researcher suggested parents get their child a camera-less phone, because they dont need the camera on their cell phone

Poetic

ive been very poetic recently i dont know why but
i have been reading many lyrics of raps and hip hop songs
rap songs are poem with fancy beats at the background
so rap songs are really poetic
especially Shing02

Shing02 is a Japanese MC who grew up in UK and later came to US
he is not really well known here but he has few albums both in Japanese and English
he also has many collaboration with other artists like Nujabes

Shing02's lyrics are hard to understand (at least for me) they are pretty poetic so i always have to look up his lyrics
also most of his songs are not like gangster hip hop rap
its really calm and such so just check it out

omg finals!!!

finals week is next week
i have most of my finals next thursday and one last final next next tuesday
most of finals are pretty easy
in fact i am already done with one of them
for English all i had to do was put all the drafts of essays i wrote for the class
into a portfolio and write a page long letter to the reader
i turned it in on thursday so done with English for semester
acting and actors class, its a group project where group of 2-4 people pick any scene from book, movie, plays, and such and reenact but with a twist
MSC 150 a class where we use AutoCad 2008 software to draw 3-d pictures
its an engineering class but i took it because i couldnt get into my math class
anyways for that class i have to pick an object and draw it
i picked a turntable and i am almost done just need to put finishing touches

now the class that worries me the most is Asian American studies and History of Hip Hop class
for those classes i have a test
according to professor for hip hop class, we are gonna have 100 questions long multiple choice questions, i havent been reading the materials after mid term so i have to do intense studying and reading for this class
Asian American studies class, i actually kept up but i still need to review my notes, as for the test, its part multiple choice, part fill in the blank, and part written essay
its the essay that worries me but luckily, since class covers tons of info
they have no choice but to give us the topic for the essay (lucky lucky)

its the first finals in college for me so i am excited and nervous
i wish all of you luck either you are in highschool or college

Time Flies

it feels like yesterday that me and my friends just graduated high schools
but its been half an year
and in like 2 weeks, me and my friends will be enjoying a 2 month long winter vacation
time flies by so fast

spam or no spam

recently i have been getting a lot of weird emails
i use yahoo mail and like all or most emailing sites yahoo identifies between spam and email and places them in different locations
today i checked my email account and received an email from person i dont know
i am expecting my group project members to email me things so i opened it just in case its one of group members

the email is not from my group members but from a widow
in the message she wrote that she wanted to share her late husband's assets to God loving people
so that they can use the money to do good like build charities and such
she wrote that if me or anyone who receives the message is God loving and willing to help then contact her by email

another one i received was from a realitor
the message was addressed to someone else so i deleted

and another weird email i received was from a lawyer
this was again addressed to the wrong person but it wasnt addressed to the same person as the letter from the realitor

i received the 3 emails in period of 2 weeks
so i am wondering if you can have really similar email address that is like 1 letter or number difference if this is possible it would explain why i am getting emails addressed to other people

paranormal

recently i have been very into paranormal things
like i have been watching Ghost Hunters episodes online
and searching for photos and videos of paranormal things
and even reading about experiences of paranormal and such
its really interesting if u think about it
ghosts living among us
exploring haunted places and experiencing paranormal things
i think its very interesting

i had one myself
it was when i was 4th grade
i was sleeping with a night stand on (i used to wake up in the middle of night to get water and use the bathroom and i would always run into things so my parents bought a night stand)
my room door was open
my bed was placed so that my head was facing the door way
there was a small drawer behind the head board for support and so i can put a cup of water and my night stand on it
it was little past 12AM
i woke up and turned around to get a drink of water
i happened to look at the door way
and i saw a dress sway by
i thought it was my mom and her robe that i saw
but in the morning when i asked my mom
she said she was asleep through the night
same for my sis and my dad
unfortunately
nothing like that happened ever again

the reason why i am writing this is because right now
the sky is red and its really foggy outside
and this eerie environment reminded me of this incident

What is wrong with Youth these days?!

few posts ago i told u about the college youth group at church
and how most of people who attends the meetings are teachers of highschool youth group and sunday school youth group

well yesterday we had an outing
we went to Apple Bee's near by to eat
while eating we discussed various topics
one of the topics that came up was the high school kids they were teaching
they were saying how high school kids are so rebellious
they dont want to do anything
they wont participate
they act up
and all these negative things

you might read this and say that
kids are being just kids and its normal for high school kids to be acting like that
but from their (teachers) experiences
kids from recent years are the bad ones
there are some good ones among the bad ones but there are more bad than before
also little staff doesnt help
they would also complain about their behavior
they think (from what they observed)
one of them is doing drugs and things
and they know few of them are drinking and might be developing drinking problems

one of them talked about attending someone's birthday party at a Thai restaurant with bar that opens at happy hour
that someone being member of college group
and few of high school kids were guests
the Thai restaurant is know to not card them (checking ID)
so the high school kids (2 girls) got couple shots of hard liquor and got drunk

so in summery
kids are doing drugs
getting drunk despite being only 17 yrs old
and smoking

i am 19 and i havent done any of those
maybe 2nd hand smoke like in casinos and passing by smokers (not intentionally)
and few cups of wine and such with parental supervision but thats it
the surprising part of this is that they are not only young and attending church regularly but their parents have no idea and if they do know about their children's behavior they dont give shit or they dont want to do anything to fix the problem

what is wrong with kids these days
seriously
just few years ago kids used to be all innocent and such
now we cant even use the phrase "kids are innocent"
*sigh*
its just dreadful to think that alcoholics, crack/pot heads, drug dealers, and criminals will be in charge in the near future
i dont know about you but i am very optimistic but future isnt looking too nice right now

Black, blue, purple, painful friday

so today is the friday after Thanksgiving
Black Friday
when all the things are on sale for really really low price
today however the deals were not attractive or not as good as last year
small items did not have too good of a deal
but large appliances such as LCD TVs, refrigerator, and such things had the best deal
Last year i went to Best Buy after thanksgiving dinner and camped out
it was crazy people started pushing, tents got trampled, people lost stuff, insane
i got 3 4GB Flashdrive, couple of games, and air duster

this year my friends and i decided to go to Fry's Electronics
we arrived at 6 pm but there were already couple of hundred people before us
by 2AM the line made a spiral around the building
when people started to go crazy at 3AM the people who came late became one of the first people to go into the store
but before that let me just say, the line at Fry's was very very unorganized
everyone just started to rush and push and shit
people were being pushed against each other so tightly
people in the back pushed then people in the front pushed backwards
so people in the middle were being sandwiched

once in line all u have to do was rely on luck
if u r lucky u get pushed forward, i was with my friends and by 4AM i somehow was separated from my friends and i was way ahead of them

if u r lucky u wont be near a smoker because the body heat is already making the air stuffy, but the smoke makes it 2 times harder to get any breath of fresh air my friends were lucky because they didnt have any smokers around them, i in the other hand is 6'3 so my head was sticking out of the crowd but there was a smoker in front of me that never stopped smoking and i could not get a fresh breath of air

if u r lucky u wont be pushed and compressed so badly i was in the middle and when it was close to opening time, people started to push, i was literally lifted off the ground and pushed few feets forward, and most of the time by body was twisted and awkward shape

if u r lucky u get to be around people who are friendly that you can talk to even though the topic might not be so pleasant, i was surrounded by nice people, we talked about bad economy, good deals, what we are here to get, the line, and whole lot of shit and actually make temporary friends

if u r lucky u get to be surrounded by people of opposite gender and make temporary gf/bf, i am a guy and other than the guy in front of me, there was girls all around me and couple of them were asian and one them was pretty damn cute
later when the doors open and people started pushing, the same cute girl suddenly crossed her arm with my arm and said "sorry, but i feel like i am gonna fall if i dont grap on to you" and i was like "i dont mind"
it was damn good experience
not only was a cute girl pulling on my arm
when i got to the store
i got all the things i needed and a external hard drive that i wasnt planning to get it but i did because the cute girl that grabbed on to my arm told me it was damn good deal, i didnt see it on the ad but what she said was true

but afterwards my body ached like there is no tmr
and all of my friends decided not to go to fry's next year
because it was so unorganized and the cops, firefighters, and employees did not do anything to stop the people at the back of the line from pushing
and the only thing i regret the most is not getting the cute girl's info
her number would be nice but knowing her name would be nice too
only thing i found out about her was that she was asian, average height, average body, and was getting the external hard drive she told me about
o well
hope everyone who went to stores today but good deals on the things they bought

bad time

my religion is Roman Catholic
and i am proud to say that i attend church service every week and study the bible
and a member of korean catholic church community

every church have some kind of a youth group
sunday school for little kids (k-8)
at our church we have a group called SCKY (St. Christoper Korean Youth) for high school kids
and Chung Nyun Boo (청년부)for young adults (college)(i am part of this group)
CNB is new this year and also new this year is that
all the groups will be meeting on saturday night
i say good job person who planned this because meeting on saturday night is sooo smart (i am being sarcastic)

most of college students have jobs
and if you have or had a job, you know that saturday nights are always the busiest of all days
we had 4 meetings and the maximum number of people were 10 and 37 was suppose to come
well like 10 attend school far away or different state
and the rest have jobs
it just surprises me that 10 people actually show up
because a college student in their right mind would not bother coming to church on saturday night
unfortunately 8 of the 10 came because they teach SCKY or little kids
so they dont mind staying a little longer
me and this other person come out because we dont have anything better to do

CNB didnt do much
1st meeting we discussed wat we expect and wat we want in this group
2nd we played board and card games
3rd we were suppose to have a movie night but end up playing board games again
4th we ate out at Dennis
next week we are gonna eat out again
with only 10 members its hard to plan anything efficient
face it 10 might seem a lot but when it comes to retreats and car wash fund raising
its not enough

and it seems that 10 is the number we are stuck with for awhile
unless some people quit work which is not likely thnx to horrible economy
CNB is doomed for now

korean writing

i know this is like my 10th post today
but its because i think these things are just worth posting
i guess
well this one is about my language
Korean writing was created in 1446 by Sejong the Great, a king from Joseon dynasty
Sejong is respected by Koreans for finding the writing system that is still in use today and many other innovations

studies have shown that Korean writing is one of the easiest writing in Asia although classified to be one of the hardest in US, studies have found different among asians
scholars in Korea brought everyday people from different asian countries and found that with only 4 hours of instruction these people were able to write and understand simple korean words
compared to other asian language which required more time

according to studies, King Sejong created the writing to be simple on purpose for poor subjects
before Korean writing was invented, korean subjects used chinese characters which was very difficult to learn especially for the lower class who could not afford education
to solve this problem King Sejong created the writing simple enough for even the lower class to learn

now why does this matter?
if kings with absolute power can be so caring about their subjects
why cant the government today do the same?

i choose sejong as example cause i saw a documentary on tv about him
and people say you cant learn anything from tv

and tonight i had an awesome experience
at 11:35 pm
my sister (sophomore in highschool) called me to pick her up from school
now why was she at school at that time of the hour?
it was for her color guard competition
color guard, for those who dont know, is like cheer leading but more artistic
its girls and sometimes guys who appear with marching band and swing colorful flags, throw and catch rifles and swords and such its really nice
so anyways i head to her school
then suddenly comes a thick fog
the fog was soooo thick that you could not see the car in front of you
you can only see two red dots (lights at the rear of the car)
the parking lot at the school was worse
you could not even see people walking around

now what does film directing and thick fog relate?
well i felt like i was in the horror movie
i also felt like i was in ET when a car was coming towards me
my eyes acted like a camera in a horror movie movie set
i thought to myself
"if i ever direct a horror movie, i am going to use tons of fog"
this whole fog thing gave me mix feelings
i was excited and kind of scared
like going into a haunted house
so the lesson in all this
fog is good in movies
its like the dark but more eerie because with fog comes the chills
and eerie + chills = good scare and good horror movie
i guess
thats my theory

rain drops falling on my head

according to many many weather forecasts, southern california is gonna get rain
YAY!!!
we need the rain, its been just too dry here
unfortunately to fire victims, the rain is an enemy
if you know the geographical effects of wild fires skip next section
if you dont then read on

effects of fire
fire burns all the brush in the hills
when these bushes and plants are burned and eventually die
not only the plant itself die but the roots are gone too
the roots are important because roots hold the soil together
the fire kills the plant and the roots of plants, not only that but makes the air and the soil really dry
thats what they mean when people says "fire creates its own weather" (the dryness)
now when it rains the water mixes with the dry soil and creates mud
the mud slides down the hill and create land slides and mudslides

now many of the homes that burned in the fire are at the base of hills
so when it rains and when the water creates mudslides
these neighborhoods are going to be effected
so people in these neighborhoods are sandbagging the area and trying to protect their homes
you can understand the frustration these people feel whether or not their home burned down or not
if their home did burned down then it frustrates them because that gives them less time to dig through and find things that survive the fire not only that it gonna delay cleaning and rebuilding process
if their home survive the fire then they have to worry about another disaster that comes their way

i was watching a documentary in Korean
they interviewed a single women with her own book store
she was in 30s yet single
she said she does want to get married but now does not seem to be a great time for marriage

studies conducted showed that there are more single women in 30s today
studies in 1970 showed that only 9.1% of female population between ages of 20-30 were single
today 58% were single
the results above are for South Korea not the world

another study showed that Japan was passed the 50% mark 20 yrs before Korea
survey shows that more women believe one does not need to marry to live a happy life
korea (51% of women between 20-30 said marriage was not necessary)
Japan (59% of women between 20-30 said marriage was not necessary)
the theory is economy
Japan is very well known for strong economy so the theory behind the numbers might be economy

today (nov 15) was a lucky day
something really good happened to me that made my day

i had a crush on this girl for awhile
unfortunately
the situation is really complicated
ive known her through church youth group and it was love at first sight
but i was stupid
i was very not self confident and thought she was just too perfect for me
so i gave up on her and decided to ask out someone that seem a little less perfect
the name of the girl i liked was min and the girl i asked out is yoonji, min's cousin
i got to know them both when our church attended a huge youth group and yoonji and min both attended
after i got to know them better i decided to ask yoonji out
i didnt ask yoonji out directly because i needed to make sure yoonji is single so that when i ask her out, it wouldnt make a weird and awkward situation
my friends advised me to ask yoonji's cousin or sister if she have one
so with that idea my head said
"min is yoonji's cousin, so if i ask min about yoonji then problem solved"

now the climax
after i asked min about yoonji, i found out that yoonji was single but was crushing on someone else
after this event min stopped relying to my messages on facebook and myspace
and stopped coming out to church
this was definately weird and made me wonder about min and min's behavior
i felt like not being able to solve a difficult puzzle and wont be able to sleep without solving it

so i posted my situation and asked questions about min's behavior on Yahoo Answers
yes, i was desperate
i posted the same question about 6x
most of them gave me same answers: "min had crush on you but felt bad cuz you asked about her cousin yoonji"

boy those were some shocking answers, who would have thought that the perfect girl i had a crush on but thought was too good for me would have a crush on me?
fate huh?
after this i felt sooooo bad about this whole situation
i felt so much guilt that i thought i was going insane
this happened a year ago

so what makes today special?
min lives at Diamond bar, same diamond bar that is being effected by the fires of orange county in southern california
so taking my chances and gathering up enough courage
i posted on her facebook wall
"hey
i heard the fire is burning at diamond bar
how you holding up?"
her response
"oh thanks for your concern! it really didn't affect me too much bc the fire never really hit any structures in DB. we were very lucky."

the fact that she responded made my day
but i kept having thoughts about how she might have moved on
well anyways her response gave me an idea
i am gonna ask her to meet me some where so i can tell her my story

about how i wanted her at first but i thought she was too good for me
and apologize for causing her bad feelings in person

i dont care if she accepts my feelings or not

what is wrong with people?!

as i stated below there are few fires burning right now at LA and Orange County areas
one of the fire is now less than 10 miles away from my house
ash and smoke is covering the air and ground
fortunately no one has died (yet) but couple of firefighters were injured
also 6 people were arrested for looting

i know our economy is not at best right now in fact its the worst since great depression and people are desperate but wtf seriously looting?
these people were caught trying or duration of looting evacuated homes effected by the fire
the home owners are already worried about their homes and loosing everything they worked hard to attain and these people wants to add more worries to these people
what happened to the world?

it seems that our society is getting worse and worse and no bright future anytime ahead

End of the World

if you havent watched the news then you probably dont know about the fire in southern California there are 2 large fires (fire storm) in orange county
and another fire in LA County
the 2 fires in orange county is about 10 to 15 miles away from my house

anyways
with all the fires and watching the news all day makes things look like the end of the world
many homes are being destroyed, thousands evacuated to local high schools and other evacuation centers, thousands of acres burned, firefighters injured, resources running out (mayor and firefighters have asked people to conserve water and power), its just crazy
if you have seen all the live pictures on news of expensive homes being burn down, people crying, people with worried faces, and people escaping then you know this is not something to laugh about
and when firefighters announce that they have no containment of the fire, it makes things worse

pray for those who lost their homes
pray for firefighters who put their lives on the line to save people and their homes
pray for those who have been evacuated and constantly worry about their homes and businesses

there is protesting in Los Angeles and Hollywood today
because prop 8 passed to band same sex marriage

yes it unfair to gay people who want same rights as any other people
but voting results speak for themselves
people voted against same sex marriage and thats that
until next election
protesting to reverse that decision will cause more conflicts

if the supreme court of california or federal government do overturn the election results and either order a re election or ignore the election results completely
then supporters of other propositions that did not pass will protest and demand re elections and such

if something is done about this issue
its gonna start an endless cycle of protests and angry people
i myself is not happy with the election results but whats done is done
especially when it comes to elections
but sometimes you have to sacrifice a finger to save the hand

finally after 50 mins
she comes out

i asked "Why did you take so long?"
her reply "why are you complaining? i didnt call you to pick me up"

i waited almost an hour in the freezing weather and this is the reply i get
i missed Obama speech for this shit

this not the only time
i have gotten shittier reply from many people
for doing what seems right and helpful

Election day

if you are not keeping up with the 08 election
Obama won the election

i guess you can say a land slide
cuz mccain did not reach 200 electoral votes

now election might be over
but people in california is still waiting for the results of propositions

today i would like to introduce you Nujabes
one of my favorite hip hop artist

when people think of the word hip hop
most people think about 50 Cent, 2Pac, gangs, gangsters rapping about sex, money, drugs, guns, and killing
hip hop is bad
but there are good hip hop too

in korea (i can speak Korean) the radio stations doesnt like to play songs about controversial or sensitive issues
when songs are not played on air
its does not receive enough publicity to sell albums
so artists, especially hip hop artists, dont focus on gang life and such

i am sure its same or similar for other asian countries but i am not sure

well back to Nujabes
he is a japanese american DJ/MC
he is well known for composing a lot of music on the original sound track of a popular 2004 anime "Samurai Champloo"
his songs are more poetic than other rap songs
he has a lot of instrumental music with his own style
he mixes different genre of music like jazz and soul with some kind of beat at the background
his music is very soothing
easy listening
but its labeled as hip hop

so if you are looking for new genre of music

but what amaze me is not the tracks in the album
but the freestyle rappers

things on the albums are all written in a long period of time

because it takes me long time just to make two or three lines rhyme

i remember i had something good to write about but i forgot
i dont know why but today was really long and exhausting day for me

i drank a can of Monster before lunch but i felt tired throughout the day
it seems that no energy drink or coffee works for me

my tire blew out

today i was on the 60 Pomona freeway
going about 60-70 mph
when i heard a loud pop
followed by banging noises coming from rear of my car

i pull over to the right shoulder to see what was going on
i found out
my rear driver side tire had blown out
my rim was exposed
and the rim did not have any support from the tire

i went back in the car and called AAA
they said they will arrive in 20 mins
after the call ended
a CHP officer pulled over behind me
and walked towards me
he asked "what happened?"
me "my rear tire blew out while i was driving"
officer "did you crash into the center divider? where did you damage your tire?"
me "no, i was in the middle of the freeway"
officer "is any assistance coming?"
me "yes, i called AAA"
officer "i see, i got a call saying that a vehicle crashed into the center divider and pulled over"
me"oh i see, well its not me"

officer walked back to his car
5 mins later a Metro Towing Truck came
and put the spare tire on

when i told my friends about my tire blowing out
they told me i could have died
i didnt know
i just laughed at the whole situation
only thing in my mind was that i had go buy new tire and maybe new rim and how much the repair cost will be
i didnt think it was life threatening

i thought it was only dangerous when front tire blow out
i gotta research this

scary story (real life experience)

alright ladies and gentlemen
Halloween is almost here and i would like to celebrate that by telling a scary story

alright here we go

when i was young, there was a house on a hill rumored to be haunted
so as teenagers looking for some fun and adventure
me and 7 other friends decided to go into the house
piss in the pool in the backyard
and come back out

we divided into 2 groups of 4 cause all 8 of us would make the place bit too crowded
making it hard to make a speedy exit
so me and 3 other guys volunteered to go first
when we tried to open the door
the door wont budge
we could turn the knob but the door just refused to open
so we called the other four guys (who were standing 10 feet away from the house) to help us open the door
there was 8 guys pushing the door but it didnt budge

before we decide to walk away
one of us lightly kicked the door and the door swung opened
then we all had one thought in our mind: What The Fuck is going on?
at first we were all shocked but we decided to go in
after all our manhood was on the line

the four of us walked through the house
with no problem
we were scared although each of us tried to hide it
the house was dark and full of dust and cobwebs
we had two flashlight
other than years old dust the house was in good condition
but it was empty
no furniture

but we made it to the back yard where the poor was located
the pool was empty but there was green moss forming at the bottom
we pulled down our zippers
but before we can relief ourselves
2 left and ran out of the house
so me and my friend swear each to go through this together
we were scared as fuck

after we finished pissing
we slowly waked into the house and towards the front door
half way there in a hallway
we heard something
and it freaked us out
so we screamed and ran towards the door
i thought i was gonna die if i didnt stop
as i was getting closer to the door
flashbacks of all the victims of haunted houses in hollywood horror movies
came to me

when i went out rest of the crew was outside
they were scared by our scream
when i walked up to them
they asked
"where is Tim (other friend)?"
i thought he was behind me but he never came out of the house

since each of us was too scared to go into the house
we decided to wait outside
5 mins passed
10 mins passed
30 mins passed
and no one came out

we were all worried
one of us was so worried that he started to cry
another was about to call the police
but decided not to because if the police showed up
then we would get arrested for transpassing

after an hour later
Tim came out
he was drooling
and his face was pale
his face was so pale that it looked like as if some one sprayed him with flour

he slowly waked up to me and asked
if i had a twin
of course i didnt and when i told him that he sat down
we calmed him down and once he was calm he told us what happened

here is what he told us: (for next segment I = tim, you = me)
when we (me and tim) ran I(tim) fell
i called your name and asked for help
you stopped and helped me on my feet
and we started to walk
you lead me
few minutes later
i noticed that you were not headed towards the door
i thought you forgot the way and tapped you on the back and i told you that you are going the wrong way
and i pointed towards the correct way
you turned around and told me that there is something you wanted to show me something you found

i felt uneasy
but still followed you
i somehow feel that if i didnt follow you, i will die
so i followed you
you lead me into a room
this room looked like the master bedroom
when you opened the door
dust blow and i closed my eyes
when i opened you were not there
i walked into the room calling your name
then suddenly the bathroom door flung opened
and a little boy in dirty clothes came out
he had blue paint on his left hand
green on the other
his clothes were stained with both colors
he looked like as if he was finger painting
he came up to me, grabbed my hand, and said
"you wont tell anyone right?"
then the boy walked to the window and jumped off
then something tapped me from the back
i turned around and it was you
i asked you where you were and you told me
you fell cause the dust
i asked you about the boy and you told me you didnt see anyone or anything
and you lead me into differnt parts of the house
each room showing a child committing suicide or being abused
later you lead me to the door
you told me to walk out and you thanked me for visiting and started to walk deeper into the darkness
i asked you where you were going
and you turned around became a child with white eyes
and told me you were gonna stay here with your family
i was so shocked that i blacked out
when i came to
i was drooling and walking out the door
and you guys coming running towards me

now i know that the guy who tim saids it me is not me
because i never heard tim falling down
or tim calling my name and calling for help
and i never stopped
in fact i ran as fast as i can out of the house

anyways

thats what tim told us
we know this was the truth
because his hands were covered in paint and dirt
we asked "if you knew the exit why didnt you run and exit the house?"
his answer was "because i somehow felt that if i didnt follow the thing i was following i was going to get killed"
and after he told us this story
he went through his packet and found a folded paper
when we unfolded the paper
the paper had finger paint of the house and what it looked like the 8 of us standing in front of the house
we were so scared that we ran home

ever since this incident
every Halloween we discuss and recall what happened for fun
and recently we decided to do some research to try to find out what happened in the house and to the previous occupants and owners of the house

new type of TV show

in asia many TV shows have celebrity guests and celebrity hosts
these shows are called celebrity variety shows
there are many types of variety shows
1) celebrities play games/challenges (ex: Hollywood Square)
2) celebrities come together to discuss current events and there opinion
3) the host celebrity plays prank on another celebrity (ex: punk'd)
4) reveal celebrity history or home (address not revealed)

there are more but these are the ones i can think of off top of my head

here is my reasons why these shows exist in asia but not in U.S
first is lack of fame and money
asian celebs are not internationally known, if they are then they are only well known in near by countries but not in U.S
celebs like Brad Pitt and such gets royalties from all over the world but asian celebs get royalties from countries like China, Korea, and Japan
so to make more money they do guest appearance in variety shows
its also beneficial to both audience and celebs
celebs get royalties and audience get to see other side of celebs
and get to hear their opinion about social and current issues

these shows do exist in U.S but the guests and challengers are everyday people
also in asia there is no shows like TMZ
there are similar shows but they dont downgrade celebs

here is a reason why i think asians dont downgrade their celebs like people here
in asia if you want the audience to respect you, you must finish college or at least have higher education except child actors
there are some asian child celebs who stopped show biz to go to school or military
there are also few celebs who graduated from University of Standford, University of Los Angeles, and other highly known universities
and of course there is culture differences asians are more uptight and more respectful of each other

so i would really like to see these celebrity variety shows in U.S as well
it would bring more respect to celebs and be entertaining to audience

child sponsor

you know those TV commercials about sponsoring a child in 3rd world countries?

all the organization say a dollar a day can provide things like clean water, education, food, housing, and etc

a dollar a day so its about $30-$40 a month
so my parents decided to sponsor a child
they did half a year and stopped

now before you curse at me and such hear me out

all the ads makes people believe that sending money order of $30-$40 will be the only thing sponsors had to do
but no
its not
the organization asked my parents to do so much stuff like write letters, send gifts, etc

my parents are middle class workers
they work day and night
so they could not find time to do all the things they were asked to do
also the money order was not just $30-$40
my parents ended up paying $500 for the 3rd month because the organization keep asking for more money for events and such
when the bad economy hit and gas rose to $4+ per gallon
by parents could not spend extra $500 per month
so they had to stop sponsoring a child
but before they called to stop sending money orders
they got a mail saying
the child moved to different place 2 month ago (2 month before the letter was sent)
so what did they do with extra payments, i dont know
but the point is that
sponsoring a child is not for middle class work force
they require so much things that people who work full time wont have time for
plus payments increase every month

so if you are going to sponsor a child
be sure that you can make payments up to $500 a month (thats half of monthly rent for a 2 room apartment)
and you have time to do all the things the organization asks you to do
so that you wont end up like my parents and feel bad for stop sponsoring

my love story

falling in love is a great feeling
knowing that someone will be by your side
and you being by the other person's side is a wonderful thing

i too had loved someone but my love was, is, and maybe will be only one sided

i saw her only once a week, on sundays at church
she was very kind and had a very outgoing personality
she was a type of a person that had infinite amount of energy
she was a dancer, member of her school dance team (never found out how good she was)
she was also a great singer
she was everything a guy can ask from a girl and she was single

unfortunately i thought she was too perfect and that she wouldnt date a guy like me
it was my lack of self esteem and confidence that lead to my own doom

i was in junior year in high school when i first noticed her and when i first noticed that i had fallen in love with her
she was there and might have been signaling that she liked me back but i was blind and stupid to see the signal

i didnt see the signals, she might have given 200% of her effort but it was useless against me, my thick skull blocked all the signals and efforts she was presenting to me
later i would commit a great sin that sin is
breaking her heart

i didnt see the sign so i didnt know she liked me, it might sound like an excuse but its true
i asked her about another girl
"hey i like this girl you know, do you know if she has a bf?"
she answered me "yes she does, sorry"
i made a bad move
i deserved to be bitch slapped till my face fell of my head
i deserved the most painful method of dying
i left a deep scar in her heart

after this i lost all communications with her
she didnt respond to my comments on myspace/facebook
and she stopped coming out to church for awhile

few months later i was thinking back in my life
and thought about her actions
i decided to ask people about my situation online at sites like yahoo answers
i told people about a girl i liked but thought she was too good for me
i also told them about her behavior after and before the incident
i asked for advices
i was desperate
i wanted to know the answer the to question
"did she have feelings for me?"

results came in really fast
total of 15 answers 4 were bullshit answers
11 out of 11 answers said she had feelings for me
5 of them told me to try confessing my love to her
2 told me to move on
4 did not give me any advice

i did not believe this
she like me, i liked her
yet i screwed up
and because of my stupidity someone else had to pay the price

"11 people cant be wrong right?"
i asked myself numerous times

not being able to face this truth
i became very depressed
i thought about suicide
i hated this cruel twist of faith
my heart ached every time i heard a love song
or watched a tv show with happy couple(s)
"is this love?"
"this is too painful"
"i give up, i will never love someone else ever again"
these are few thoughts that came up in my confused mind

holding my aching heart
every night i prayed that time would some how rewind to that day i broke her heart
so i can prevent myself from breaking her heart

its been a year since the day i broke her heart
she seems to have moved on
she is still single
i still havent found out if she had feelings for me or not
i think about her everyday
hating myself for not having the courage to tell her "i love you"
and for making the wrong choice

assault with deadly weapon

recently OJ Simpson was found guilty of assault with deadly weapon, kidnapping, and 10 or 12 other charges and is now facing up to life in prison

this news reminded me of another article that i read few months ago about a case on assault with deadly weapon
here is the summary (I couldnt find the article)

there is a motel in somewhere middle of the the United States
unfortunately employees there were using the motel as a base for dealing drugs
a big sting operation by the cops ended the drug dealing
a reporter who was covering the story wanted to interview the owner of the motel who is a chinese immigrant
apparently the owner did not want anything to do with this story and refused interviews by the reporter
but reporter was persistent and kept pressuring the owner to be interview
owner refused few more times this time getting little violent by pushing away the reporter and blocking the lens of the camera with his hands
but reporter did not stop
so the owner grabbed a gardening hose (without pressurized spray thing) and started to soak the reporter and the camera man
they retreated cussing and telling the owner that he gonna get sued

the owner was sued and charged for an assault with deadly weapon

LOL hilarious
scientists and scholars always stated that water is source of life
yet in this case water was deadly weapon

also does this mean that in that state I can sue the cops for spraying me with a water cannon during a protest or a riot?

here are two stupid laws that should not exist in California
1) law that says if there is an incident where a person was injured in someone's home then the home owner is responsible
so if a thief fell and broke his arm while attempting to rob me and possibly kill me then i am responsible for his injuries (great law, why are we paying these politicians for)

2) in a car accident the vehicle in the rear is responsible for the damage
this law is perfect for fraud
its like giving "get out of jail" card to all serial killers and terrorists

for taking our money and making bogus laws to take more money away from hard working and tax paying citizens

first rain of fall fell today here in Hacienda Heights (southern California) during the early morning hours
it was a light shower but enough to keep the ground wet till mid day

my predictions

now we are seeing the effects of our collapsing economy
bank failures, high prices, increase in foreclosure and unemployment, large corporation and citizens filing for bankruptcy, and etc
the government as of now is working on a plan to help this bad economy (just heard they agreed on a plan)

now here is my prediction of what will happen in few years
first if the plan succeeds...
then things will be back to normal, prices will drop corporations will be out of financial problems, foreclosures will stop (at least decrease drastically) banks will be running like they did before (Bush) and everyone will be happy again

if the plan fails...
then people will riot and this will be like 200x worst than LA Riots every major corporations will fail
politicians will argue and fight blaming each other
everything will come to a halt
then world economy will start to fail
once it fails it could be the end of the world

now try to look optimistic

Damn Bush for this Bad Economy

everyone knows who is mainly responsible for this bad economy
its George W. Bush

everyone knows that Bush didnt do anything to lower gas prices or help people facing foreclosure
yes...gas prices is slowly dropping (in California at least) but it Bush didnt do anything
it was the foreign oil drilling companies located in Middle East and car companies
foreign oil companies said to lower gas prices they will increase production to nearly 200%
and they did
thank god they did cause scholars were predicting $8 per gallon by end of 2008

the car companies especially Toyta and Honda invested and produced hybrid cars that gets up to 49 mpg to lower gas demands and thus lowering the price
(economic theory: as demands go down, so will the prices)

now lets discuss what Bush did
1) tax cuts on the rich (very helpful lets make the rich more rich)
2) sit around till things got out of control (major banking companies going bankrupt everyday) worst economic situation since Great Depression
3) propose $700 Billion Bailout Plan that will never get passed
4) wait till his term ends and leave all the problem solving to the next president (good luck Obama/McCain)
5) increase the minimum wage (pretty good huh? well no, studies have proven that current minimum wage is not enough for middle class work force to support themselves and children is not part of themselves.

so in conclusion Bush did not to improve economy but did a lot to worsten it
yay!

its basically a study personally conducted by the author about minimum wage and middle class workers the author works for minimum wage for a month trying to make living and the book tells her experience
read it, its really good

why we cross pinky finger when making a promise

once upon a time in a far far away kingdom lived a beautiful princess
she was so beautiful and wise that princes from all over the world came to propose to her
finally 5 princes were chosen
to find the best match for her the princess hid her right hand behind her back and unholded her pinky
then went up to the princes and asked them which finger she is unholding
1st, 2nd , 3rd, and 4th princes showed the wrong finger
when 5th prince showed his pinky finger to the princess they crossed pinky and got married

but this happy marriage was short
soon after the marriage the prince was sent to war
but before he left he promised the princess that he will return to her and they crossed their pinky finger

but even after few year later, the prince did not return
many princes from different kingdom visited her and asked her to remarry
but the princess was hopeful that prince was alive and will return
so she turned away all proposals

but as time passed
she could not wait any longer and decided to remarry
and begin her search to find another husband
but one day a begger came to the palace and asked to see the princess
her advisers were about the throw out the begger
but princess stated that everyone should have a chance and let him in

the begger showed his pinky finger and revealed that he was the prince
but at mid night the prince disappeared

the truth is that the prince died on the way back to the palace from the battlefield
ghosts stay here for 49 days
and the day prince returned was the 49th day
to fulfill his pinky cross promise to the princess
the prince returned as a ghost

later the princess found the body of the prince
the princess laid beside the body and drank a bottle of poison and died beside her beloved prince

Horrible Idea?

when my friends and i decide to hang out or go out to eat
we meet at one place and car pool to save gas usually there is about 3 ppl in the car cuz we all drive sedans
today i was in my friends car to go to coconut bay which is a thai food place its really good
anyways on the way this jerk just cuts off my friend and he had to slam his brakes to avoid crashing

my friend got so pissed and honked for the longest time
that incident triggered a conversation about bad drivers and wanting to do something about it

i said i just want to crash them or something like that
my other friend saids he want to drive up next to them and cuss at them and flick them off but was afraid the other driver might have a gun
the friend who was driving said he wants to scare the bad driver by driving up next to them and honk to get their attention and point a toy gun at them and speed off

i was like wtf
terrible idea
one might cause 20 car pile up like that
